The new graphics card by ASUS has arrived in the market. Its the new ASUS EAH6950 DIRECT CU II. This graphics card has 2 big coolers on the top which keeps the card cooler than others. The heat sink is slightly more than an inch in height and the two 90mm fans over it add another inch. The cooler is efficient, but the card takes up 3 slots. This graphics card uses a custom-designed PCB as well so that the heatsinks sit at the correct place.At 10.5 inches the PCB is as long as the reference design, but the metal shroud extends an inch further than the PCB.
The rear panel has a pair of dual-link DVI slots and 4 Display Ports. Considering the limited availability of monitors with Display Port, HDMI ports would have been better. The card runs at the stock speed and the performance is also good, except that the card runs lot cooler. At 1920 x 1080, Crysis Warhead ran at 39 fps on Enthusiast mode and Anti Analyzing set to 4x. With PhysX disabled and other effects set to high, Mafia 2 ran at 67 fps.
